helpful info in the stars---from astrology.com

If it's felt the last few weeks as if there's been an argument brewing - or perhaps you've already even dealt with some full-fledged fights - it's time to breathe a sigh of relief: Mars is moving out of Aquarius and into Pisces on February 23, a transit that will usher in a sense of calm!
You'd think Mars and Pisces would oppose each other, given how polar their forces are from one another. After all, Mars is fiery and aggressive, while Pisces is watery and non-confrontational. Yet, these two are able to work quite well together. Pisces acts to mellow Mars' combative influence, while Mars simply prompts Pisces to act.
Your duty now is to recognize that your tactics for success will have to change. Rather than charging in like a bull before cowering away at the first sign of conflict, try a subtler, more roundabout approach. Talk - and listen - to people. The more you can help and work with others, the easier it will be for you to convince people to see things from your perspective as well.
You may notice old, forgotten memories coming back to haunt you when they should remain buried; you'd do well to put these into perspective and let them go. Don't burden others with your troubles, and try to keep your friends from weighing you down too heavily with their own issues. Instead, focus on the artistic energies bubbling up inside you. Pursue creative activities: a dance class, ice skating or even just moving to the rhythms of your favorite songs in the privacy of your own home. Anything that inspires you and gets you moving will be a great outlet right now!

I have an event tonight to attend at the "tea garden," and though my note doesn't specify which one, I have a feeling it's NUMI! I don't see a note of it here on the blog, but i'll take my chances. I love Numi tea and the tea garden. Take a look at other events they are involved with.

wah! Stay In My Heart

As we approach Valentine's Day, there's always a big focus on romantic love with one other person. But our whole world is in need of a deeper love that comes from the center of our intuitive and spiritual heart. When we fully activate our heart centers, we're able to see through the eyes of love, touch with the hands of love, walk lovingly on the Earth, and extend deep compassion to ourselves and those around us. We become a true blessing force on the planet. And we live in deeper connection with all beings.
Together we will cultivate and awaken the Love that we ALREADY ARE. It's time to be IN LOVE, to live AS LOVE, and to CELEBRATE the larger community of loving friends that are part of our lives. together we will:
Generate a blanket of love - between us, around us, and out into the world
Invite you into a love affair with yourself - remember at your core that you are LOVE
Offer collective love prayers and send them to places on our planet that need deep healing
Fill yourself up from the well of love that lives in our collective heart
Learn how to stay connected to this loving energy through time

STATUS: wrapping my smart meter in foil!

Comment: Geneviève Le Goff does that work? :)
Reply: Sylvia Sanchez yes. kinda. you've got to create a blockade on both sides with the foil.
Geneviève Le Goff and then, do you know what happens to the bill? Can they still read the meter, or...? they put one on my hous and i don't want it!!!
Sylvia Sanchez so the bill can be negotiated! 80% of people with smart meters have noticed an increase. when you call them on it, they will "send someone out" to look at it and adjust it. you should see your bill decrease
AND! if you get 30 people near you to find a "right" price to pay for power, and just pay that, PG&E will be forced to let you "pay" that...because the meters are so inaccurate! !
and..if you can prove it malfunctions, like other household things, like motion sensors are acting funny---you can request they move it. This is ALL very new and exciting info. I just got back from a green party meeting in BKLY.
Geneviève Le Goff NICE! Thank you for sharing Sylvia :) I'm going to try!
Sylvia Sanchez but don't you live in Marin?
I believe it has an ordinance, so you should have no problem getting them to deactivate it/ remove it. also if you have an electrician savvy person//you can check out the wiring. it's got a black current and ...a red one..., santa cruz, watsonville, and fairfax have all stopped the metering. you can post a notice on your meter to not have it changed. so much info! i'm so glad you are interested...more should know about it---i'm telling my neighbors.

National Partnership for Women & Families: Lymph Node Removal May Not Be Necessary in Some Breast Cancer Patients

It seems almost instinctual in the western medical system to remove a mass and perform a biopsy---finally the counter argument is getting some attention.

Black Currant Oil | Black Currant Seed Oil | Arthritis Today Supplement Guide

One of my favourite efa's to recommend is evening primrose, especially for women whether they be experiencing skin disorders, pms or perimenopausal symptoms. More recently I switched my oil intake to include more plant based oils like hemp, kiwi seed, raspberry seed and black currant.

I suggested GLA to a woman today who had only supplemented flax. Efa's are not only associated with inflammation but effective for other reasons too.

Gamma-Linolenic Acid

Origin: A type of omega-6 fatty acid found in evening primrose oil, black currant oil and borage oil.

Dosage: Capsules or oil; 2 g to 3 g daily.

Claims: Lessens joint pain, stiffness and swelling associated with rheumatoid arthritis. Eases symptoms of Raynaud’s phenomenon and Sjögren’s syndromes.

What we know: Several studies show GLA is an effective treatment for reducing inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis with few side effects. GLA only works if taken orally; there is no evidence that these oils applied topically are effective. It also may regulate the immune system.

Studies: One of the most promising studies was a placebo-controlled trial of 56 patients with active rheumatoid arthritis who received 2.8 g GLA for six months. Participants showed significant improvements related to joint pain, stiffness and grip strength. GLA doses at this level were found to be safe and effective for RA. A 2005 study showed that people with Sjögren’s syndrome who took GLA and linoleic acid had significant improvement in eye discomfort and tear production.

Tips to beat the winter blues

Tips to beat the winter blues though springtime is nearly here and it seems like it may stay many of us are indoors and not capable of enjoying it as much..here are a few tips for the rest of the country.

substance

it's been a while since i've written any informational articles, or shared any insightful bits on product usage---though I do take complete responsibility for this substantial issue, to be perfectly honest, i'm a little frustrated with the format of blogger, not having the best luck creating active links or sharing images. Tumblr works for me for right now, and here I don't have a huge following anyhow.:(
I guess you can tell i've been wearing a lot of hats.

What's up for me right now are the enjoyment of cherry blossoms and physical activity. I've been delighted in not having to use coffee to get stuff done, and it's an observation of simply including at least 30 minutes a day of walking/stairs/fresh air/brisk motion activity that has allowed this boost of energy...and b vitamins. (today I did indulge in some puerh) i'm looking forward to getting back into my yoga classes and my bikini!

Funny enough, I just received a reminder of a "blurty" account from way back...it's like my past self visiting my future self to share insight. kinda neat. Perhaps that's what this will become?

What Now?

The Organic Elite Surrenders to Monsanto: What Now?

many of you have heard the discussion, and I still don't know what to make of it. I believe a rebuttal is in order, and a significant amount of advocacy towards education and disclosure is also a must.

I've always wondered how a texas based company got so big in california. Austin is awesome, and whole foods is such a great company---recently recognized in fortune for one of the best companies to work for---just hope that someone making decisions will realize what this means for everyone...and the industry.

As usual, I will not boycott, but buycott...and assure I know what I'm getting, demand adequate labeling and look into buying and recommending products I trust and have a connection to.
