This event is always a blast! I must admit I like the coziness of the previous location---and actually visited the Oakland museum because I assumed it would be in the same place. The lawrence hall of science on the UC campus is a local alternative to the academy of sciences. Located at strawberry canyon, a day with better weather suggests a perfect post botanical garden outing.
The multiple rooms at lawrence hall were disconnected, and the two floors made it a little confusing. With that said, even in the rain the specimens were very worth it! And KQED was there taping. This years highlights for me were the microscopes at both the entry and the lichen society booths.
