Christmas lights

We love lights this time of year. Kids and adults can marvel at the colours, and decor. On a recent trip to palo alto I couldn't help stop and admire the lights strung around the trees lining the streets. The rain slick streets glared the illumination. My favourite place to visit in the area is actually the mormon temple! And what a cultural consideration decorating for the holidays can be!

I remember a conversation I had with a Russian friend who shared with me how weird it is to live on "christmas tree lane" in Alameda and not really celebrate christmas or new years like everyone else in America. She shared with me the message from a note she found on her porch: "A grinch lives here." Anybody in oakland has seen the mormon temple from afar. Anyone in oakland who has not seen the mormon temple at christmas time is missing out. Thompson/Christmas tree lane, watch out! Inner two year olds and dogs welcome.
They have a holiday reception in the evening as well that is free for all. I may go.
