It is my passion to share with others and assist with health and wellness goals. I strive to find ethical capitalists, and give them the credibility they deserve. Making informed choices about the products we consume is critical, and can be overwhelming unless someone really spends a lot of time researching. My goal is to introduce product lines that help to bridge the gap between conscious consumerism and maintaining a life that is stress free and moderately indulgent.

This beverage is a great option for those seeking probiotics, but it should be mentioned that it does contain sugar. For some who seek probiotics, sugar in food can be detrimental to body.
ReplyDeleteI love that video AND absolutely agree with you about it not being the best formulation with sugar added. Sugar is usually the problem with yeast like outbreaks. I like to think once a person begins to supplement probiotics regularly, this flora balance will regulate. Yes we can obsess about sugar, but if we break it down into 8-12 grams a day in a probiotic, and watch it diet wise it's not really that much of a concern.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you as far as sugar goes though. I am concerned with my intake, and the form. I'm under the impression sugar and other fructo-oligo-saccharides are completely unnecessary. But again, I am not a formulator. Most say it is the medium required to keep the active cultures alive.
When i'm looking for a probiotic, multiple strands and billions are what I look for. I try to get dairy free without FOS and focus on prebiotics (in the product or in my diet). Berry greens from New Chapter kinda rules as far as both of these requirements are concerned, but VERY pricey.
Yalkult is one of the first though, of Japan origin---finally documenting more evidence on the benefits of probiotics although they differ so much in composition. If it hadn't been for them, BioK, organic enyo or goodbelly wouldn't have been around. I have tried them all.
I mentioned i'm hooked on the coconut stuff right? http://www.inner-eco.com/
It is definitely an example of great marketing. I can't remember where I was but I saw this...

and then I became completely obsessed with Yakult, I really like their marketing geniuses, the accessiblity and convenience of the daily use product. I think I relied on it or something like it when I was in China. They put sugar in all their milk!! ;(
these cute commercials definitely made me develop a different relationship with the product though...which is very strange...honestly. but hey, i'm a consumer.
